Teachmint Secures $20 Million in Fresh Funding

Live teaching platform Teachmint has successfully raised $20 million in its pre-Series B round, spearheaded by San Francisco-based Learn Capital, with additional participation from CM Ventures. This latest injection of capital comes just two months after the company raised over $16 million.

Fueling Growth and Expansion

Teachmint intends to utilize the newly acquired funding to bolster the development of its live teaching technology and extend its presence into new geographical markets. Moreover, the edtech startup aims to channel resources towards enhancing its product offerings and scaling its team by attracting top talent.

Steady Progress and Valuation Surge

Following the closure of its Series A round in May 2021, which secured $16.5 million, Teachmint has experienced a remarkable threefold increase in valuation over the past two months. Founded in 2020 by alumni of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Delhi and Bombay, Teachmint has garnered approximately $40 million in total funding to date.

Innovative Teaching Solutions

Teachmint empowers educators to conduct online classes through its interactive learning platform, facilitating seamless video sharing and interactive engagement. Additionally, the company provides a tutoring management software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution, enabling educators to manage various aspects such as attendance tracking, test administration, and virtual classroom creation.

Rapid Adoption and Expansion Efforts

With a presence in over 5000 cities and towns across India, Teachmint boasts a network of more than one million teachers. Catering to diverse linguistic preferences, the platform offers support for ten Indian languages apart from English. Recently, Teachmint extended its offerings to include an institutional product tailored for schools and colleges, providing comprehensive solutions for online class management and institute operations.

Empowering Educators Globally

Mihir Gupta, CEO of Teachmint, expressed confidence in the company’s exponential growth trajectory, highlighting the platform’s role as a leading teaching application in India and a prominent live teaching platform globally, excluding China. As Teachmint continues to bridge the technological gap in teaching and learning, it aspires to revolutionize the education landscape through innovation and accessibility.

Navigating Competitive Terrain

In a competitive edtech landscape, Teachmint faces competition from platforms like ClassPlus, which recently secured a substantial $65 million funding round led by Tiger Global. Offering mobile-first solutions for coaching institutes and private tutors, ClassPlus serves millions of students and tutors across diverse cities in India, emphasizing the increasing demand for online educational tools and resources.
