Ohvenu Cafe / YOLLLLEY STUDIO

The Ohvenu Cafe, crafted by YOLLLLEY STUDIO, stands as a unique space spanning both interior and exterior realms, covering an area of 297 square meters. Nestled amidst towering buildings, this café offers a distinctive ambiance, particularly at sunset, when the interior seamlessly merges with the terrace, allowing the setting sun to cast its splendor through the surrounding urban landscape.

The concept behind the design revolves around the idea of erasing boundaries between inside and outside spaces. The layout features two curved windows leading to the exterior terrace, guiding patrons on a journey from interior coziness to outdoor serenity. At the heart of the space lies a long bar counter encircling a sturdy square pillar, establishing a spatial anchor. The sequence of elements—ceiling, pillar, counter, floor—defines the space’s gravitational center.

To blur the distinction between interior and exterior further, the design team deliberately magnified the scale of the door leading to the terrace, allowing the ambiance of the outdoors to permeate the indoor environment, especially during sunset and nighttime, when the cityscape becomes part of the café’s charm.

The seating area, adorned with bespoke chairs and tables, adds to the ambiance with its harmonious yet varied shapes, fostering a cozy and inviting atmosphere. An intriguing object suspended from the ceiling draws the eye, offering a captivating focal point between the central seating area and the window, framing views of the lush greenery outside.

In terms of lighting, the design prioritizes natural light, minimizing the use of artificial illumination to maintain the café’s connection with its surroundings. Materials such as stone, stone-textured paint, and brick dominate the aesthetic, reinforcing the café’s identity as an urban oasis.

The Ohvenu Cafe transcends the conventional café experience, inviting patrons to immerse themselves in a space where boundaries between inside and outside blur, fostering a sense of connection with nature amidst the bustling cityscape.
